South Knox Invitational 9.19.2009

Saturday we went to Vincennes for the Knox County Invitational, we had a cool morning to run again. The B-R JV Team did well again coming in 2nd place. They class the teams by big schools and little schools, we were class A. Jeremy came in 10th overall and in class A he came in 7th place. He beat his personal record again this week by 9 seconds - with a time of 11:01. It is amazing how these guys can keep improving with each meet!!

The gun fires and they are off.......I seen one team had this saying on the back of their shirts that I thought was good, it said, They ask us.... Why do you run?.......We ask them... What do you do when you hear a gun shot?

Heading to the finshline...yes it is blurry again...I get to hollering and this what happens!!

Hot and sweaty, waiting for Coach Perkins to tally up the boy's times.......

With the team trophy and ribbon.....
Part of the team...front row, Kalin O. - Matt S. - Jarrett P. - Stephen L. back row, Connor S. - Alex T. - Jeremy - Blake C.
We have one week off and then we head to the state meet on Oct.3rd.

X-Country Meet at Brown County 9.12.2009

We headed to Brown County Saturday morning bright and early.........at 5:15am...ya a little early for this mom!! I set 2 alarms to make sure we didn't oversleep...being I was driving the bus I didn't want to be late!! I went to sleep when Jeremy and I got home from the turkey trot at 10:00 pm, then Jord woke me up at 12:15 to tell me he was home, after that I seen the clock every hour and right before the alarm went off I dreamed that it was 6:15 and I was still in bed!!!! It was not a funny feeling!!! Well we made it down there on time...but it made it a long day because we went down to the turkey trot again for the evening.

They had beautiful weather to run, it was almost chilly for the spectators! Here they are starting the race.....

Running hard...I almost missed him!!

The B-R Team came in second place with 101 points.....the first place team also had 101 points and when they tie they look at the 6th runner's time to break the tie and their 6th man had the best time!!

Not sure why we can't ever get a good picture?!! Jeremy beat his personal best time of 11:47 by 28 seconds with a time of 11:19!!! The top 25 runners received a ribbon and Jeremy came in 25th out of 210 runners!!! Our team had 3 in the top 25, Jarret in 5th and Blake in 9th place.

Part of the team with their plaque......Go Barr-Reeve!!!
Till the next meet, Linda

NE Dubois XC Meet 9.1.2009

Barr-Reeve JV Team had their first meet Tuesday night at NE Dubois. They had great weather for it with the temps being in the low 70s, last year it was over 100 degrees. Jeremy did very good - he was within seconds of his fastest time last year and this is a tough course with a very big hill. He came in 11th out of over a 100 boys with a time of 11.47 for the 3k race. Last year his time was 14 something and came in 66th on this course, that being his very first race ever.

As you can see the pic is blurry, this was right at the finish line and I was yelling at them because I thought that guy in the red was going to get around them!! They beat him out - way to go Jeremy and Adam!!
Receiving his ribbon and medal for placing in the top 20 runners.

I took a quick team picture and Jeremy seems to be hiding behind Connor S.......B-R came in 2nd place as a team.....if you look close you can see the team trophy being held up in the air.

Proudly showing his team ribbon and his medal and ribbon for individual placement!!
Keep up the good work Jeremy! We're proud of you!!
